This is probably my favorite article to write where I get to take a stab at guessing what is going to happen during this NFL season. Luckily, I have a crystal ball sitting right beside me that helps guide me towards my predictions.

Last year, the Eagles put together one of the most insane winning streaks enr route to a Super Bowl bashing of the Chiefs (40-6 was the REAL score) an engraving their name among one of the best teams to take the gridiron. The question is do they have enough to repeat this year? That question is answered and more below. So enjoy!

Offensive Player of the Year

Jahbir Gibbs

Gibbs is one of the most explosive players in the league and the only reason why people aren’t even higher on him is because of David Montgomery taking touches from him. Montgomery can’t stay healthy, and this year Gibbs will carry most of the load, literally running away from the competition.

Defensive Player of the Year

Patrick Surtain

The Broncos defense should be regarded as one of the best in the NFL and Surtain’s side of the field is a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks. This year, Surtain will prove as to why he’s one, if not the best corners in the league and propel himself to DPOY.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Cam Ward

Ward may be the quietest number one pick in history with everyone concentrating on the situation in Cleveland. He has a decent WR arsenal to work with, a productive back in Pollard, and should have an opportunity to throw a lot as the team overall may not be that good and should be down often.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Jihad Campbell

If you watched Campbell in the preseason, you’ll see that he is all over the field. He is around the ball and can tackle very well. When teamed up with Zach Baun, it’s not going to be easy to get past the second level of the Eagles defense, and Campbell will show why many people thought Roseman got himself another steal in the draft.

Coach of the Year

Sean Payton

Based on what I said earlier, Denver’s defense should be very good. That goes along with a hopeful star in Bo Nix, a very good WR group, and a pair of RBs who can do what Payton likes, catch the ball and make people miss in RJ Harvey and JK Dobbins. Payton not only wins the COY, but his Broncos win the AFC West.

MVP

Baker Mayfield

While his former team, the Browns are still figuring out their quarterback situation, Mayfield is throwing for 4500 yards and 40+ touchdowns. You may scoff, but that’s exactly what he did last year. With the addition of Emeka Ebuka to go with Mike Evans and soon Chris Godwin, Mayfield takes home the MVP award with a monster season.

First coach to get canned

Mike McDaniel

I don’t know what it is, but I am just not a fan of this guy. I think his “I’m nerdy but hip and the players love me because of it” fad will get old as the Dolphins struggle and he is shown the door.

Dark Horse Team

A team that surprises that no one expected anything from: Atlanta Falcons . This is a team that may be loaded with young talent, but with Micheal Pennix Jr. basically beginning, hopes for the Falcons may be tampered. I think they challenge TB for the division and get into the playoffs this year.

Division Winners

NFC East – Eagles

NFC South – Bucs

NFC West – Rams

NFC North – Packers

AFC East – Bills

AFC South – Texans

AFC West – Broncos

AFC North – Ravens

NFC Title Game

Lions over Eagles

AFC Title Game

Bills over Ravens

Super Bowl 60

Bills over Lions

I know, I know ….the Eagles as we stand right now are the best team in the NFL, but it’s hard as hell to repeat. Everything went right for them last year, and they will still make a nice run, but fall just short.
