The NFL announced its 2025 Pro Bowl rosters Thursday, and the Philadelphia Eagles have six players who made the NFC team.
Running back Saquon Barkley, outside guard Landon Dickerson, linebacker Zack Baun , tackle Lane Johnson, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and center Cam Jurgens each made the cut for the Eagles.
This was Johnson’s sixth-career Pro Bowl section and Barkley’s and Dickerson’s third. It was the first career selection for Baun, Carter and Jurgens. It was Dickerson’s third in four seasons, too.
Johnson’s six selection as an Eagle is tied with Fletcher Cox and Donovan McNabb for the third-most in team history. Chuck Bednarik (eight) has the most Pro Bowls in franchise history (eight), and Jason Kelce, Jason Peters, Brian Dawkins and Reggie White all are tied for second with seven.
The NFL also announced 12 Eagles alternates Thursday:
- WR A.J. Brown (first alternate)
- OT Jordan Mailata (first alternate)
- CB Quinyon Mitchell (first alternate)
- EDGE Josh Sweat (first alternate)
- QB Jalen Hurts (second alternate)
- CB Darius Slay (third alternate)
- LS Rick Lovato (third alternate)
- PR Cooper DeJean (fourth alternate)
- P Braden Mann (fourth alternate)
- K Jake Elliott (fifth alternate)
- DE Brandon Graham (fifth alternate)
- ST Kelee Ringo (fifth alternate)
Brown and Mailata were obvious snubs.
Mailata (96.9) is the highest-graded offensive player in the NFL, according to Pro football Focus. He is also the highest-graded run-blocker (94.9) in the league, according to PFF. He ranks second in the NFL in pass-blocking grade (91.7). He has only allowed one sack and one quarterback hit in 406 pass-blocking snaps.
Brown ranks 10th among wide receivers with 1,079 receiving yards. He is tied for the league lead with five 100+ yard games.Only the Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase (100.8) and the Vikings’ Justin Jefferson (92.4) have averaged more receiving yards per game than Brown (83.0) this season (minimum 13 games). Brown averages 16.1 yards per catch, which is the most among WRS, and 11.1 yards per target.
As an MVP candidate with over 2,000 rushing yards this season, Barkley was an obvious and well-deserved choice.
Baun and Carter are having amazing seasons, so both being selected to the Prowl is great to see. The last time the Eagles did not have a center make the Pro Bowl was 2018. So, Jurgens making the Pro Bowls kept the streak alive left behind by Kelce.
