Does Deebo Samuel ever stop complaining?

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver is in the headlines again Monday stemming from his comments after last year’s NFC Championship game when he called Eagles’ cornerback James Bradberry “trash.” Samuel backed up his comments on Bradberry on X, the platform formerly known as  Twitter, when Bradberry was called for a crucial holding penalty at the end of Super Bowl LVII.

Samuel is still not backing down.

“I don’t regret nothing I said,” Samuel said Monday when asked about his comments leading up to the anticipated NFC Championship rematch Sunday.

First off, proper grammar is “I don’t regret anything.” So, congratulations on speaking properly to the media, Deebo. Second off, thank you for continuing to give the Eagles bulletin board material.

The initial comment about Bradberry was said on the “I Am Athlete” podcast in February. The panel of  LeSean McCoy, Brandon Marshall and Adam “Pacman” Jones asked Samuel where the “holes” were in the Eagles defense.

“Where are the holes?” Samuel said. “The back end. The D-line makes both of them All-Pros. Besides (Darius) Slay, I respect Slay. Did you see the play Brandon (Aiyuk) had? The second play of the game when (Bock) Purdy got hurt?”

The 49ers did a lot of talking in the offseason, but the smack talk was mainly from Samuel. In May, he further discussed the loss and also hung up on an interview with CBS Sports Radio’s Zach Gelb when a question was asked about the Eagles.

Aiyuk said the 49ers were “hands down” the best team in the NFL last season.

“We lost because we played with 10 people,” Samuel said in  May. “I ain’t going to keep going on about what could’ve happened and what would’ve happened, but yeah, it would’ve definitely been a different outcome (if San Francisco was healthy).”

Also in a May interview with Zion Olojede of Complex, Samuela called the Eagles his “most hated team.”

Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick decided to say something back. On X, A.J. Brown gave fans permission to troll Samuel this week.

“Talk is cheap,” Reddick said after Sunday’s win. “They (the 49ers) get to come back in the Linc. It was a lot of boo-hoos last year, a lot of crying, a lot of what if, a lot of this, a lot of that. They get a chance to come back in here, line that shit up and prove it again.”

Sunday cannot come any faster!!
