Put aside all of the hoopla. All that Super Bowl rematch talk, the Taylor Swift/ Travis Kelce stuff, and the Andy Reid chatter doesn’t matter. It’s week 11 between two of the best teams in the NFL. That’s it. That’s the story.
The Eagles travel to Arrowhead in what should be a really fun MNF game as the defense will try to find answers against Patrick Mahomes. Now, Mahomes hasn’t been playing up to the level we are used to seeing from him, but the guy has the potential to tear this secondary apart. The Eagles are going to have to seriously gameplan on how to stop Travis Kelce or else this could be a long day. Now that Bradley Roby is back, (as a matter of fact, aside from Dallas Goedert, the Eagles are healthy), they have a better chance to slow things down then if this game happened, say, two weeks ago.
On offense, the Eagles will meet a top three defense. The Chiefs have actually been carried by their defense over the past few weeks. The Chiefs have a really good slot corner in Trent McDuffie, so the outside guys AJ Brown and Devonta Smith will really need to play their “A” games. We haven’t seen them tail off much, if at all this year, so I’m confident they’ll be able to move the ball quite a bit. It would also be nice to see D’Andre Swift get going this week. The more he runs, the less time the defense has to be in the field.
I’m expecting a relatively high scoring game, but not a shootout. Whoever makes more mistakes will lose this game. Sounds simple, but it’s the truth. Both teams can put points on the board in a hurry, so turnovers could be a killer. I just have a feeling that for some reason the Eagles will play a pretty clean game. I know Andy Reid is awesome after the bye, but he falls short here at home. Eagles 31, Chiefs 24

When the Eagles’ schedule first came out this spring, we knew these next few weeks would be a challenge.
Will the Eagles live up it? Listen, they will not win all these next few games. Honestly, I would be happy if they can go 3-2 over the next five weeks.
But the Eagles just might not get the win Monday in Kansas City in the anticipated Super Bowl rematch.
We all know how good Andy Reid is after a bye week. The Chiefs have not been great their last two games, but they won’t play like they did against the Broncos. Patrick Mahomes had time to rest, and the secondary hasn’t instilled much confidence in me. The Eagles do get back Bradley Roby, which would be big. But Darius Slay and James Bradberry have not played well. Reed Blankenship has been a bright spot. Say what you will about him, but he has made an impact this year. Still, the secondary hasn’t given me enough confidence to think they will stop Mahomes, Travis Kelce or rookie Rashee Rice. Mahomes will hurt the Eagles and the Chiefs will score… and quite often. The Eagles front doesn’t worry me. They will stop the Chiefs rushing attack, namely Vineland native Isiah Pacheco. But Mahomes is too elusive and he can and will escape from the Eagles’ pressure, and that’s even if they successfully bring it.
Offensively, the Eagles will be fine. I have no concerns there. The line is expected to get Cam Jorgens back, which should be a great help. The Eagles have scored 97 points over the last three weeks, and they could’ve scored more without those goal-line fumbles against the Commanders. The Chiefs’ defense has been good and held the Dolphins to 197 yards of offense. The Eagles average 376.8 yards and 28 points. If the Eagles are going to win, they need to score in the red zone, an issue this season and burn a lot of clock while doing it. D’Andre Swift needs to be used a lot more. Jalen Hurts’ is probably still not 100%, so he shouldn’t be running a lot. Still, the Eagles will be fine offensively. The problem is will they outscore Chiefs? I just don’t think they will. It’s not a knock on the Eagles offense, it’s a knock on the defense. The Chiefs secondary is just better, and they will get more stops. The Eagles will have better days ahead this season, just not on Monday night. Chiefs 34, Eagles 30

Here we are week 11. We all lost years of our lives after the last game 2 weeks ago against the hated Cowboys. We came away victorious, and our psyche needed last week to recover from it. The Eagles still sit alone with the best record in football and this week’s game will determine if they sit alone with that distinction, or if they have company. It’s a big revenge game; we came up short with a questionable call from the refs that ruined what would have been a great finish to the game that I’ll never let go. Yes, there were other factors but that pass interference call was bogus and cost the world a phenomenal finish to what was already a great game amongst the top two teams in the league.
I am getting sidetracked here. Andy the old veteran coach playing his old team again, against Nick one of the top young gun premier coaches in the league. The league MVP (Mahomes) from last year against the runner up (Hurts). You have the top record against a team tied for the 2nd best record and as mentioned the reigning champs hosting the Eagles.
Kansas City lost more offensive weapons and are really thin at WR. But they have Travis Kelce and the support of the Swifties around the world. I for one think as the best TE in the league it will be a tough match up for the Eagles. The Eagles also have a tendency of making mediocre receivers look like household names. This year the secondary has been suspect and while the Eagles lead the league or certainly are at the top in pressures, they haven’t been on pace for the record setting sacks like they were last year. Mahomes is still great but looks more human with the lack of weapons. I suppose I give the Eagles the slight advantage here.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles offense seems more dynamic. AJ Brown is putting numbers up that rival the best season ever for an Eagles WR. Given some of the names that played the position, Carmichael, Quick, Jackson, and Owens to name a few, that is saying something. Smith on the other end seems to be cleaning up whatever scraps were left. The Eagles lose TE Goedert, but gain back Guard Jurgens. So the passing game takes a hit that we hope future hall of famer past his prime Julio Jones helps with, but running game gets and upgrade with the guard coming back. However the Chiefs not typically known as a top defense, has quietly become a top 5 rated team this year. Have to give the advantage to the chiefs, but again its close.
Coaching and intangibles as we found out last year, Reid just seems to use the experience and creativity to his advantage, but he doesn’t have the tush push and we all know Reid coming off a bye is ridiculous.
At the end of the day, I probably put both teams as evenly matched. Both have flaws but still seem to be the top teams in the league. You can make an argument for or against them both. Kind of similar to two weeks ago, I’m basing my pick on one thing, whose the home team. Since it’s in KC, I am picking against the Eagles for the first time this year. Chiefs 24, Eagles 20
