The Eagles have not swept the Cowboys since the 2011 season. It just goes to show how intense this rivalry is. But Dallas has had the advantage recently. The Eagles are 3-8 in their last 11 games against the Cowboys, and Nick Sirianni is 1-3, having won last year when Cooper Rush started. In their last 22 matchups, the Eagles are 8-14 against the Cowboys.
The Eagles need to stop the trend Sunday.
Listen, beating the Cowboys is always a top priority. But the rivalry is the last thing on my mind. I WANT the Eagles to beat Dallas. But this goes beyond just being rivals.
The Eagles are 1.5 games up on Dallas in the division and conference. If the Eagles lose this game, and then Dallas wins again next week against the Giants, Dallas will have the lead in the NFC East and NFC. And going beyond that, the Eagles schedule gets incredibly tough with Buffalo, San Francisco, Kansas City and Dallas, while Dallas has an easier schedule with the Giants, Carolina, Washington and Seattle. The Cowboys do have a tougher schedule to close out the year, but what happens these next few weeks could be huge.
This is a major must-win game for the Eagles.
The Eagles are a better team than Dallas. They have the better offensive line, which has been shown with Tony Pollard’s performance lately. The Eagles will be fine offensively, but they need to stop with the turnovers. Last week, they should have scored 52 points. The Eagles fumbled twice at the goal line and kept Washington in the game. Dallas is a much better team with a better defense, so they cannot happen.
The Eagles defensive front should have a better game than last, and if they rattle Dak Prescott, he will make mistakes. If they do let him get comfortable, CeeDee Lamb and the other receivers could hurt the Eagles’ secondary. I do think Dallas has a very, very stout defense, so the Eagles have to play a clean game.
I want D’Andre Swift to be used more. The Eagles have not had a 100-yard rusher in their last 17 games against the Cowboys (LeSean McCoy had 159 in 2014). The Eaghave gotten away from the running game the last few games, and I think this is a perfect week to get back to it. Chew up the clock, do not have any turnovers and continue to score and the Eagles should go into the bye 8-1.

This is a huge, huge game for the Eagles as it could either give them a little bit of a cushion heading into next week’s bye, or help give the Cowboys first place in the NFC East It almost seems unfair being that Eagles only have one defeat so far this season, but it goes to show you how close these two teams are.
When looking at the matchup on paper, the Cowboys offense may give the Eagles some fits. Dak Prescott came to life last week, and CeeDee Lamb had a career day against the Rams. Tony Pollard may have issues running the ball against the Eagles front, but he’s a dangerous weapon out of the backfield. If the Eagles cannot get to Prescott, we could be in for a long game.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles should run right at the Cowboys line. That’s the best way to attack Micah Parsons, who generally has quiet games lined up against Lane Johnson. The secondary of the Cowboys can be had, and with AJ Brown playing in another world right now, he and Hurts should be able to have some connections down the field.
There is a little worry that the Eagles play a little sloppy once again, with careless turnovers and some questionable play calls. If that happens on Sunday, this is a loss. But, it’s hard not to get up for Dallas, and as mentioned before, the defensive line getting to Prescott is key. I think they in fact, do that early to set the tone.
I don’t attend Eagles games in person too often, but I will be there. They have won each time that yours truly is in the stands, so let’s keep that trend going, shall we?

Here we are with one the NFC ‘s biggest rivalries with the NFC East’s true leaders with the Cowboys traveling to South Philadelphia to try to invade the nest.
This match up has big implications for the standings come playoff time. Dak Prescott has had very good success against the Eagles with an 8-3 record against them . But at 7 and 1 let’s not forget that Dallas is gonna play an intense, no holds barred team in the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. With that, I do believe they play the Eagles like it’s a playoff game. That being said, the Eagles are the NFL s elite team and I do believe this will be a dog fight. We will see more of the talented running backs on both teams but the Eagles do end up on top.

This was a good read.
This is what I see in your post
Great analysis and positive predictions for the Eagles in this crucial game! It’s clear that the Eagles have the advantage and the potential to come out on top. Let’s hope they continue their strong performance and secure the win. Go Eagles!
