Here we are in week 6. The Eagles travel back across the country to the more familiar east coast. It will be their second away game in a row and while the opponent is not one they see too often in the regular season, it will be in Metlife Stadium, which they know well in their annual visit to play their division rival Giants.
The Eagles remain one of the two undefeated teams in the league and while they have not looked as impressive in getting there as the 49ers, you can’t argue with what counts the most, their record. Also, if you listened to sports talk radio at all, and the focus was not…deservedly so…on the Phillies, you’ve probably heard that the Jets have never beaten the Eagles. That has to change at some point, right?
The Jets were the most hyped team of the pre-season. Aaron Rogers in the huge NY market was shoved down our throats at nauseam. Then at the start of the season he was…Gone in 60 seconds. So the Jets had to turn to everyone’s mom’s favorite player, or maybe it’s the other way around, Zach Wilson. He hasn’t been good. Star receiver Garret Wilson and Rogers groupies Allen Lazard and Randle Cobb have suffered because of the QB play. Star second year RB Breece Hall has come back from injury and gotten stronger and more utilized as the season went on. Even with the top defensive rookie of the year candidate Jalen Carter sitting out, neutralizing the Jets biggest strength, the running attack, should not be a problem, especially with the Jets already week offensive line losing their best lineman last week.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles offense has begun to hum, they can beat you in so many ways. However, the Jets defense while not quite as dominant of late, is still very good. I think they will be a little tough to score against and with the talented Sauce Gaudner likely to face off against AJ Brown, this might be he week Davante Smith gets to eat. (Edit: This was written before the status of Sauce Gardner was determined)
In the end, aside from the jet lag traveling from one side of the country to the other, then back again, the Eagles are by far more talented and even with a slow start and some trouble scoring themselves, it should be a game they remain in control of throughout.

The Eagles have never lost to the New York Jets! Yes, they are 12-0 against them, and the Eagles should add another win to their already perfect series. Sunday might be tough on defense without Darius Slay and Jalen Carter, but the Eagles should walk away 6-0.
Zach Wilson has more interceptions than touchdowns. He’s averaging less than a passing TD per game with just 182.2 yards. Wilson is just not that great. At the end of the day, there’s a reason the Jets signed Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets might score some points with the injuries the Eagles have on defense. The Jets do have some good weekends. Breece Hall is coming off a strong performance and could be someone to watch, but the Eagles rushing defense has been stellar. Garrett Wilson will probably get a touchdown, as Slay would have been covering him. But the Eagles defensive line will make things difficult on Wilson. He will be sacked! He will feel the pressure and make mistakes.
And even if the Jets get some points, the Eagles will score much, much more. Defensively, the Jets are horrible. The Jets ranked in the bottom 10 or less in the league in yards allowed, sacks allowed, first downs allowed and third-down percentage.
If the Eagles offense clicks like it did last week, especially in the second half, then I expect a monster game from Jalen Hurts.
Choose the weapon— Dallas Goedert, DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, DeAndre Swift— one or more of them will light up the stat book. OK, the Jets have D.J. Reed and Quinnen Williams, but I still think the Eagles will have a big day on offense, especially with Sauce Gardner out.

This has some markings of a potential upset if the Eagles come out sluggish. Every team wants to come out and be the first to put on in the loss column, and it’s the NFL where every Sunday there’s at least a few surprises.
The Eagles will be shorthanded on defense as Darius Slay and rookie sensation Jalen Carter will be out. Going against a very weak offense led by the struggling Zach Wilson which will probably aim to try and run the ball and win the time of possession battle keeping the Eagles offense off the field. Even without Carter, the Eagles will be tough to run against.
With the ball, the Eagles should have some fun as Sauce Gardner and three other corners are out for the Jets. Jalen Hurts should be able to have decent success for the second straight week. I would also expect a steady diet of the running game, more likely in the second half while the Eagles sit on a lead. The Jets have a decent coach in Robert Saleh, but the Eagles have way too much talent. Birds don’t have much trouble here.
