Did you know Justin Fields is the third-leading rusher in the NFL over the past nine weeks, and is also the 12th-leading passer in that same span?
Fields is on a roll and performing very well. However, the rest of the team is just not good. The Bears have lost six straight games and nine of their last 10. The Bears have both a low-ranked offense and defense.
To sum up: Fields is good, Chicago isn’t. That’s why the Bears are 3-10.
Honestly, I’ll be surprised if the Eagles lose this game.
Still, you should never take a team for granted. That is a recipe for disaster. Fields will probably finish with some big runs here and there. Maybe Fields will make some nice throws and score a few touchdowns, but that’s it.
But there should be no concern for a trap game. … As long as the Eagles aren’t like Micah Parsons and thinking ahead to Christmas Eve, the Birds should win easily.
Offensively, Jalen Hurts and company should move the ball well on a porous defense. The Eagles should win this game by at least two scores. It will be interesting to see how the defense handles a running quarterback. I think Fields will be more of a challenge than Kyler Murray. Fields is having a better season.
And speaking of Christmas Eve— I know Eagles fans everywhere are excited. Let’s just get through this week and, who knows, maybe Doug Pederson will deliver an early present to his former team. Eagles 34, Bears 17

To be honest, I haven’t thought much about this game during the week, and I’m hoping that hasn’t been the case for the Eagles. It’s the NFL, and being the team with the best record, you’re going to get the best shot from almost every team you play.
Judging from some pictures from our friend Ed Kracz who is covering the game, it is very cold out there in Chicago. The team had practiced outdoors to try to prepare themselves for the weather, so hopefully that doesn’t play too much of a factor.
Something that will definitely play a factor is trying to contain Justin Fields. It will be interesting to see if Jonathan Gannon decides to put a spy on him or attacks in a way to keep Fields inside the pocket. This could be an important game for Kyzir White. If he struggles today, you may see more of Nacobe Dean going forward.
The Eagles should not have trouble scoring against this Bears defense. Despite being 10th in the league in passing yards given up, they don’t get to the quarterback as they only have 16 sacks on the season. Against the run the Bears rank 26th, so that will most likely be where the Eagles attack them, and we know they run the ball well.
The Eagles control the game clock and they win this one without much drama. Eagles 35, Bears 14

Wow, it’s almost Dallas week which is going to be a very important Christmas Eve game. But let’s wait a minute, let’s not look past the Chicago Bears which many analysts believe the Eagles might be doing . However, iny opinion the Eagles are too smart for that. They will be more than focused and will win today’s matchuup against the struggling Bears. Eagles 40, Bears 10

Chicago is in the bottom half in points per game offensively but they really struggle defensively where they give up the third most points per game. This is why they have the third most losses in the league. The talent they lacked on the defensive end only got worse when they traded some of their most productive players from previous years before this year’s trade deadline. The Eagles on the other hand score the most points per game and give up the 8th least points per game. They are also peaking now.
The one thing that Chicago has going for it is that they have a promising and exciting QB in second year pro Justin Fields. It’s not with his arm that he has been special where he is 32nd in the league in yards per game, but with his legs where he is 9th among QBs all NFL players at 905 yards rushing. It’s a stat that will shatter the record for most rushing yards in a season by a QB and makes even the most athletic QBs like his counterpart this week Jalen Hurts and rushing phenom Lamar Jackson blush.
As per their win loss record Fields, himself cannot carry the team to many victories and the Eagles have weapons galore with the aforementioned Jalen Hurts as the MVP front runner with 1,000 yard rusher Miles Sanders and 1,000 yard receiver AJ Brown heading up the fire power. Defensively they remain strong as well, on example is Brandon Graham who seems to be getting stronger as the year goes on…surprising for an older player. He has a chance at comeback player of the year.
The last couple weeks I expected some close games, this week I expect a blowout. Yes it’s the second away game in a row and Chicago is coming off a bye, but the Eagles are better in every way and I don’t see how this game even stays close much into the second quarter and beyond. Which is important because they need to keep rolling to stay ahead of the Cowboys, it’s the difference between the 1 seed and a 1st round bye and home games throughout and all away games as the 5 seed. Eagles 35 Chicago 17
