The seventh installment of the Philly Sports Stat of the Week features the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are coming off a tremendous 35-10 victory on their home field Lincoln Financial Field against the Tennessee Titans. The Eagles certainly shocked me with this victory and the defense’s performance against the fearsome running back Derrick Henry. The Philly Sports Stat of the Week is 30 rushing yards allowed to Derrick Henry by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles’ suspect run defense held up against one of the best and most dominant runners in football Derrick Henry. The team’s defense against the run sits at 17th in the NFL rushing yards allowed per game after this game’s great performance. The Eagles allow 117.9 yards on the ground per game.
The team stepping up to stop Henry’s potential reign on the day upset Henry, quarterback Ryan Tannehill, head coach Mike Vrabel, and anybody that has anything to do with the Titans. The combination of stopping Henry early and securing a big lead took the ball out of this beast of a running back’s hands.
It was delightful to be proven wrong and see the Eagles bottle up the rushing prowess and force of Derrick Henry. The Philadelphia Eagles continue to prove that the team is just flat-out good. The vibes are positive and the team is giving all onlookers a good thing to remember when January rolls around. For now, the team receives another internet weekly award.
