The fourth installment of the Philly Sports Stat of the Week has taken a turn. The stat doesn’t have to do with tackles, three-pointers made, penalties, or any conventional statistic. The Philly Sports Stat of the Week is four. Four days off granted to the Philadelphia 76ers.

In an odd but helpful scheduling realization, your Philadelphia 76ers have had four straight days off. It is imaginable that the team still thinks that this is some stroke of luck, as the schedule has been out for a while now. The team received a short vacation a month after the season had started. The Sixers I don’t know the last time a team has been generously given such a break on its own. Believe me, I tried to Google it like anybody would.

Now some people reading this are probably thinking, “well why does this matter?” It matters because the Sixers have been able to slow down in the fast life of an NBA franchise. The Sixers have been able to fine-tune their athletic motor before the club has to jockey for position in the NBA playoffs. It also matters because it is so peculiar that the team has many days off. You know, given how many underhanded things have been done or not done depending on if you’re talking to an NBA League Office defender.

Yes, the problems are still there with the team. It was also pretty nice to sit with back-to-back wins for the team on a back-to-back at home. It was just nice to not think about them because the Sixers were just in the cut. Incognito of the sports viewing pleasure of all types of fans. The club no longer can enjoy its sabbatical.

Starting with a matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, November 18th at the Wells Fargo Center. A tangle of two of the league’s best defenses. The Bucks (106.3) and Sixers (106.4) are both top 5 in points allowed at third and fourth respectively. No more breaks for the club until All-Star Weekend in Utah the weekend of February 19th. It’s onward and upward for the veteran club.
