Here we are in week 2 after a win on the road last week against a team a lot of people think are greatly improved from last year. We all know the game was dominated early but then got dicey with a score maybe a bit closer than it really was, or at least was supposed to be.

Meanwhile, our opponent played at home against a team that was the top seed the past…2 years I think in the NFC and dominated them. Since we only have one week to analyze here, it almost seems weird to say it but it seems we are catching the Vikings at a bad time. They seem in midseason form, especially on offense while the Eagles seem like they are still figuring things out. The Eagles are home though and in a prime time Monday night game where you know the fans will be fired up. They are also favored in the game, not quite the home 3 but favored none-the-less.

The Eagles have a good offense and despite the rough game last week, I think they have a pretty good defense as well. I can’t speak to the Vikings defense but the Vikings offense is elite and probably top 3 in the league. I think this early in the season it will be too much to overcome and the Eagles offense won’t be able to keep up. I won’t be a blowout but I am calling for a loss this week in a shootout. Vikings 34 Eagles 30.

Last week’s game against the Lions showed two sides of this team. An offense that now has some big play ability with the addition of AJ Brown and a running game that seems to be tough once again. The other side was a defense that took their foot off the pedal and allowed a young Lions team to put up 35 points against them. The first part of that shouldn’t really surprise anyone. We expected this offense to be respectable, but for the defense to struggle the way they did should be a concern.

Unfortunately, the defense will have to find ways to try to stop Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook and a Vikings offense that can attack you in every facet. The corners will have their hands full with JJ and Adam Thelen, as Kirk Cousins will certainly try to sling the ball around as much as he can to improve on his career 1-9 MNF record.

This is the Eagles home opener, on a nationally televised game so that has to be taken into account. The crowd and the team will be fired up but I am not sure it’ll be enough to get the Eagles to 2-0. It will be a dogfight, and possibly a shootout, but my gut is saying the Vikings prove to be just a tad too much to handle this early in the season. Vikings 34 Eagles 27

Week 2 already! Obviously there’s some questions after last week, but I think I’m a little less concerned then most. Jordan Davis shut down Lions run game on limited snaps last week, he should see much more playing time facing Dalvin Cook. Justin Jefferson is a problem for anyone but it is also Kirk Cousins in prime time(even though he usually plays well vs the Eagles). That being said I see Eagles winning an entertaining game. Eagles 27, Vikings 24

As I stated last week the Eagles will win but still leave you scratching your head looking for answers. The Eagles have a lot of things to fix, and I do think that eventually they will fix them, however it won’t be soon enough against the high yardage offense of the Vikings.    Vikings 28, Eagles 20
